Chamber Symphony

Jon Christopher Nelson's Chamber Symphony (1987) builds upon a single harmonic/melodic idea to creat vividly contrasting surface designs. Consequently, although the various movements and sections within movements are distinct from one another in mood and style, they are, nonetheless, inextricably woven together creating a cohesive whole. Chamber Symphony's formal design is quite classical and implements a loose sonata form in the first movement and a hybrid rondo/sonata form in the third.
